Microsoft has announced that its online productivity suite will be opened for public to try out. It can be accessed in 38 countries across the world and over 17 languages. Different from common microsoft programs such as word and powerpoint, users can also use microsoft exchange,sharepoint and microsoft lync. Forefront security client provides protection. Microsoft ensures 99.9 percent uptime for this service.
The release of office 365 beta is followed by beta of office 365 marketplace. This service enables the office 365 users to select and find out apps and services from microsoft and from its partners.

I've had a few customers using 365, they offer some really nice features but sadly their UI system is very hard to use, finding simple things like adding new email alias and when designing new websites forwarding the domains is a nightmare!
In my opinion good for small businesses with no IT knowledge but not so good for people who are used to Godaddy and Cpanel type administrator panels.
